Fall Winterization
Ontario winters are brutal on boat engines. A cracked block, corroded fuel system, or frozen cooling passage can cost thousands. Dave performs a complete winterization that covers every system — engine, fuel, cooling, electrical, and drive — so your boat is ready to fire up in spring without surprises.
- Engine fogging and cylinder protection
- Fuel system stabilization (ethanol treatment included)
- Cooling system drain and antifreeze fill
- Oil and filter change
- Gearcase and lower unit service
- Battery maintenance and storage prep
- Bilge inspection and moisture control
Spring Commissioning
Spring commissioning is more than just putting the battery back in. Dave performs a full system check — fluids, belts, hoses, impeller, fuel lines, electrical connections, and starter function — before the first crank. You show up to a boat that starts on the first turn of the key.
- Full fluid inspection and top-up (oil, coolant, gearcase, trim)
- Belt, hose, and clamp inspection
- Impeller and water pump check
- Fuel system prime and leak test
- Electrical system test (battery, starter, alternator)
- Sea trial readiness check
When Should You Winterize?
Book winterization by mid-October in the GTA. Overnight temperatures drop fast on Lake Ontario, and a single freeze can crack a block. Spring commissioning starts in April — book early to get on the water first.
